From all over the world,
We all came together,
at a lovely place,
I'd like to call Kalewade!

Three days of absolute bliss,
we spent doing lots of things,
from elaborate meals literally every two hours,
to dances and games of cards,

The stars were glittering all night,
with all the performers shining bright,
Sonali with her lovely voice,
mesmerized all of us in sight,

the kids put up a great show,
Arjun at the helm and malika, rohan, rahul and meha in tow,
and then suddenly, we had a spurt!
where rohan completely stole the show!

and soon opened the bag of stories,
with everyone joining in to share their bits,
anuja with her elephant memory won the bet,
while I was completely awestruck with them!

to imagine the pranks and the things that you'll did,
seems so amazing that i'm still smiling!
what a riot you'll must have been,
and what great fun it all must have been,

just listening to all that had happened,
and then revelling in all that we did,
dancing till it was late into the night,
and singing like there was no end to that time,

all that music and all the fun,
we all sure did have a great time!

our short trip into wai,
was interesting and unique it it's own right,
the musty old wood house smell,
coupled with the peaceful shell,

the sounds resonating within the temple,
and the bell clanging in tandem,

and soon it was time to head back and pack,
the three days were heading to a wrap,
a little bit of agraha and soon we were off,
to an extended vacation for all!

then we all were together again,
at just another venue!
dinners, parties and new years,
with more and more shopping goods!

so many more things to mention,
it's just going to be a while,
the amazing effort and planning that went into it,
led to a seamless smooth vacation trip,

so here's a big thank you to you all;

Aaji, for spearheading all of us and for all the things that you've taught us,
Priya and Pramod Mama, for the planning and execution,
Aai and Papa, for doing so much!
All the cousins for everything that we all did, the cards, the dances, (boy am already missing dard-e-disco and om shanti om!)
All the kids (gosh my nephews and nieces!) for that lovely performance... We all loved that immensely!

Lots of love!!

Crash Landing on You - Netflix K-Drama Review

I think all of us remember our first love, we remember what it felt like to have our hearts beat that much faster, the butterflies in our stomach, the obsessing about the words we spoke or didn't speak, and other million details that come along with it. Watching a romantic comedy is supposed to evoke some bit of those memories and just fill you up in this warm, fuzzy feeling that feels like a comforting bear hug (if you like hugs!). A while back I was reading this article about the dearth of good romantic comedies nowadays and it's true, when was the last good romantic comedy you saw? To me the evergreen You've Got Mail, Kate & Leopold, Notting Hill, Sleepless in Seattle are still the classics (yes, I think I crushed on Meg Ryan a lot!). In Hindi movies, I know this divides a lot of people, but I do genuinely think Sonam Kapoor has figured this out. I absolutely loved her Khoobsurat with Fawad Khan. I thought it was funny, contemporary and their chemistry was left me...

Karthik Calling Karthik

After having been completely enamored and in love with the song "Uff Teri Adaa" I couldn't wait to watch the movie finally. The end emotion being, a decent watch, but could've been much better. The movie begins with a very stereotypical life of a guy (Farhaan) who's just not got anything going for him, from a landlord who's hounding him for money, to a boss who's blaming him for everything that goes wrong, to the hot co-worker (Deepika) who just doesn't know of his existence at all! The change that comes into his life, is a call, at 5 am each day, by a man who claims to be "Karthik" himself who guides him to becoming the man that he is. And voila, suddenly, the real "Karthik" begins to stand up for himself, asserts himself in front of his boss, and manages to strike conversation (a rather witty one) with Deepika too! Sitting in the audience, you literally feel like whistling and hooting when you see him walk down the corridor of his...

Reviewing the K-Dramas I binge-watched recently: Chocolate, Doctors, Cinderella and the Four Knights and Romance is a Bonus Book (Part #2)

So like I said in my last post, here are short snippet reviews on the latest K-Dramas I've watched on Netflix: 4) Chocolate - I kept seeing promos/recommendations for this show so I just started watching it one day. The storyline is quite beautiful. It's not a romantic drama even though there's some of it. It's primarily a drama about human relationships and life in general. The two main characters are of a young boy who grows up to be a neurosurgeon (I later watched another show where also the doctors are neurosurgeons, makes me think this is a popular aspirational speciality) while being one of the heirs of a rich family who owns hospital chains, and of a young girl whose life was touched by this boy as a child who grows up to become a chef and their journey is the drama's plot line. This show also focuses a lot of episodes in the context of a hospice. It's shown in a very humane way, but those episodes touched me the most. I was practically crying each time ...
