examinations

the mere thought of it makes me smile,
the transition of my fears now nowhere in sight,

what makes people fear a test,
that you don't have what it takes to clear the rest?

or is it the same like being asked a question,
being shaken out of the world of fiction,

being asked to reason out your feelings,
being asked to have justifications,

the numbers that seemed so incongrous,
the words that seemed to escape my conscious,

are now like drops in the ocean,
the one i steer with my emotions,

the intent and passion that i previously felt,
is now more of compulsion for myself,

the excitement of wanting to state my point of view,
is merging into the seas of views,

trying to mould an answer like it should be,
is like asking your mind to think differently,

not innovative or even creative,
but restricted and unnecessarily extended,

it's a game that i used to play very well,
but this time i don't think i will gel,

i've had my way, i've taken my time,
i've done what i wanted and made my choice,

the game's still the same, the rules still apply,
the change is in me, and i will still fly!

in my own way, in my own style,
for no one but me, for I am I!

I think all of us remember our first love, we remember what it felt like to have our hearts beat that much faster, the butterflies in our stomach, the obsessing about the words we spoke or didn't speak, and other million details that come along with it. Watching a romantic comedy is supposed to evoke some bit of those memories and just fill you up in this warm, fuzzy feeling that feels like a comforting bear hug (if you like hugs!). Karthik Calling Karthik

After having been completely enamored and in love with the song "Uff Teri Adaa" I couldn't wait to watch the movie finally. The end emotion being, a decent watch, but could've been much better. The movie begins with a very stereotypical life of a guy (Farhaan) who's just not got anything going for him, from a landlord who's hounding him for money, to a boss who's blaming him for everything that goes wrong, to the hot co-worker (Deepika) who just doesn't know of his existence at all! The change that comes into his life, is a call, at 5 am each day, by a man who claims to be "Karthik" himself who guides him to becoming the man that he is. And voila, suddenly, the real "Karthik" begins to stand up for himself, asserts himself in front of his boss, and manages to strike conversation (a rather witty one) with Deepika too! Reviewing the K-Dramas I binge-watched recently: Chocolate, Doctors, Cinderella and the Four Knights and Romance is a Bonus Book (Part #2)

So like I said in my last post, here are short snippet reviews on the latest K-Dramas I've watched on Netflix: 4) Chocolate - I kept seeing promos/recommendations for this show so I just started watching it one day. The storyline is quite beautiful. It's not a romantic drama even though there's some of it. It's primarily a drama about human relationships and life in general. The two main characters are of a young boy who grows up to be a neurosurgeon (I later watched another show where also the doctors are neurosurgeons, makes me think this is a popular aspirational speciality) while being one of the heirs of a rich family who owns hospital chains, and of a young girl whose life was touched by this boy as a child who grows up to become a chef and their journey is the drama's plot line. This show also focuses a lot of episodes in the context of a hospice. It's shown in a very humane way, but those episodes touched me the most. I was practically crying each time ...
